cultural history of northern TANZANIA

Learn about the various cultures interacting in the specific context of northern Tanzania.  Enjoy your orientation at the United African Alliance Community Center (UAACC), in the foothills of Mount Meru. Engage with local WaMeru and Maasai families and students, and develop a deeper understanding of the precolonial, colonial, and post-colonial histories of the various peoples of the region.  We are able to arrange local homestays if your program permits. We can also arrange opportunities for community service in the communities being visited by the program.

GLOBAL HEALTH IN TANZANIA

Find out about global health in the specific context of northern Tanzania and directly from practitioners.  Enjoy your orientation at the United African Alliance Community Center (UAACC) in the foothills of Mount Meru.  Engage with local families and Tanzanian health care workers and students, and develop a deeper understanding of health care issues. There may be time to offer community service to a local clinic or NGO.  We are also able to arrange local homestays if your program permits.

EDUCATION IN TANZANIA

Learn about education and schooling in the specific context of northern Tanzania.  Enjoy your orientation at the United African Alliance Community Center (UAACC) in the foothills of Mount Meru.  Engage with local families and Tanzanian teachers and students, and develop a deeper understanding of the issues they face. There may be time for practice teaching or community service.  We are also able to arrange local home-stays if your program permits.
